Forest Aid |
Operating as a non-profit organisation offering a workable solution to global rainforest destruction
What is Forest Aid?
Destroying rainforests is no longer an emotive subject. The fact that more than 150 acres of forest is cleared every minute, resulting in the loss of more than 100 species of plant, animals and insects every day was not enough to prompt global action.
Global warming is a recognised threat to all life on the planet. Extreme weather events are predicted to become more frequent. Reducing carbon emissions is now a priority for every government. Deforestation produces more than 20% of global carbon dioxide emissions
Our Key objectives
- To secure lease agreements with governments in the equatorial belt.
- Leasing forests and managing them for future generations.
- Making use of local knowledge by working with indigenous people to manage the forests using renewable sustainable techniques.
- Instigate replanting programmes
